Summer Reading Program
Register for the 2023 Summer Reading Program: All Together Now at Brownell Library and celebrate community, collaboration, connectivity and kindness! The fun starts on June 23rd with a marshmallow roast, collaborative games, and face painting at our annual Summer Kick Off Party and extends through mid-August with a variety of programs that bring youth and families together to learn about our local community, create art, experiment with STEAM and robotics projects, and share resources. Some highlights that we are particularly excited about this year include Storytimes at Maple Street Park, a meet and greet with a sled dog team from Cobbell Hill, an opportunity to explore the Casella Resource Rover, and a local history walk, but there is so much more! Be sure to check out our Summer Reading Brochures (linked below) and our Events Calendar for a full list of programs and descriptions. For teens in grades 6-12, we are also offering volunteer opportunities. Interested teens should Register to Volunteer to see a full list of opportunities and to sign up.
Once you register for the Summer Reading Progam, stop by the youth circulation desk to pick up your summer reading materials, including a reading log, or download a reading log linked below. Once school is out, you can report books read by bringing your reading log to the library during any hours we are open to the public. Physical books, e-books, magazines, graphic novels, and audiobooks all count towards summer reading!

This summer, children who show us their reading log can choose a small prize out of our Community Treasure Chest OR enter a ticket into one of our raffles for a larger prize. Participants can show us their reading log as often as they wish! This raffle will take place at our Summer Reading Celebration with the No Strings Marionettes at Maple Street Park on Thursday, August 17, 6-7:30. Whether you read one book or one hundred, attend one program or several, we hope you will join us for the show!
